James “Bo” Bolus — Proud To Be A Trial Lawyer
I’ve practiced law in Louisville, Kentucky for quite a while. It’s a profession that enables me to truly help families in their greatest times of need. Helping people is a calling which must be taken extremely seriously, when the stakes are as high as they often are.
We’ve all heard lawyer jokes and honestly, some of them are pretty funny. But when I get a call from a person whose spouse, or parent, or even child has been severely injured, the time for joking around stops. Over the past years, I’ve been involved with families who’ve experienced unexpected catastrophes resulting from a surgeon’s mistake. I have a client who went in for a simple procedure and due to a number of factors is now paralyzed and brain damaged. I’m fighting to protect the rights of that unfortunate individual and her family.
I receive calls from individuals who have been hurt in car wrecks and may not be able to go back to work ever. Imagine the stress and pain this situation would have in a family. What if that person was the only one who worked outside the home? That’s a serious situation that demands a professional, experienced attorney. Not the kind we sometimes joke about in the office or at the game.
Once in a while, I even get calls from families who suddenly realized that Grandma, Grandpa, even Mom or Dad have been injured or abused in a nursing home. These are some of the most innocent victims who don’t deserve the treatment they received, nor ever expected it would happen. Unfortunately, it does. These elderly individuals and their families need someone who can help to right those wrongs and to make sure that others don’t suffer from negligence or abuse.
When I wake up in the morning, I know I’m going to help children, parents, and grandparents. If my family were ever in that situation, I’d hope that someone would do the same for them. That’s why I take my profession so seriously. It’s why I’m truly proud to be an attorney.
