Abby L. Watkins was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and was raised in Leitchfield, Kentucky. She attended Grayson County High School and graduated in 2005 where she was a member of the National Honor Society, Class Vice-President, and Class Salutatorian.
Abby is currently a senior English major Spanish minor at the University of Louisville, where she has a full academic scholarship and maintains a 3.7 GPA. She is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and the Honors Scholar Program. Abby is also the recipient of the Harlan Scholarship, which guarantees her admittance to the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville. She plans on starting graduate school in the fall of 2009.
